Last time, on the Solstice in June, we were joined by the legendary Fred Provenza. And it was incredibly special. So on the equinox in September, that became episode 322 on the podcast.
This time, in the midst of the southern spring and northern fall, our special guest will be the brilliant naturopath, nutritionist and researcher, Stacey Curcio. Along with special guests TBA.
Stacey made a brief but memorable appearance on the podcast back in episode 165, Voices of the Wayfinders: Leaving the Nicole Masters intensive in Orange (NSW). Stacey was a speaker on the bill at that gathering, and increasingly elsewhere since. Based in regional Queensland, and daughter of legendary legendary regenerative agriculture doyen, Terry McCosker, and wife Pam, Stacey is deeply embedded in farming and regional communities in Australia.
Stacey’s experience and current PhD research has led to her distributing some startling news bulletins recently. I wrote about one in my recent piece, We’re Killing Our Farmers, and soon after noted this one on Australia's Health 2026 report: it ‘paints a sobering picture of our nation's health. Dementia has now overtaken coronary heart disease as Australia's leading cause of death; around 3 in 5 Australians are living with at least one chronic health condition, and the proportion of young Australians (aged 16–24) experiencing a mental health disorder has risen from 26% to 39% over the past 15 years.
‘While these national health report cards can feel disheartening, they also highlight an important opportunity.’ This is where we’ll go with one of Australia’s best.
