Megafauna & the Return of Water: Empowering Biology to Reduce Fire & Reverse Desertification
You’re invited to a very special film screening plus Q&A at the 2nd Global Earth Repair Convergence (online & in-person).
Kachana Station, in the spectacular Kimberley savannah region of far north Western Australia, has become a global symbol of regeneration in practice. But the story is not finished. And is currently under threat.
This session begins with a powerful short film, with over 1.5 million views so far, produced by award-winning ABC program Australian Story, followed by a live update on where things stand today on this paradigm change in motion - including a rapidly narrowing window to act.
What follows is not a typical panel. It is a working conversation across science, land stewardship and systems change. Together, we explore what it would take to establish a research-led pathway forward, and who is needed to make it real. For those inspired and ready to contribute, a clear next step will be offered.
Special guests include John D Liu, Cassandra Kikiama, Dr Arian Wallach, Sam Bartels, all hosted in interactive conversation by Anthony James.
This Convergence event, from May 7-11, will bring together over 500 in-person participants and thousands more virtually—including restoration practitioners, experts, permaculturists, scientists, innovators, funders, and community organizers—to accelerate action on ecosystem restoration, climate cooling, food security, and biodiversity recovery.
