“And it’s not feeling like emotion, like I feel sad. Or, what are the sensations I’m feeling? That’s not it. It’s feeling for country. It’s feeling for what those trees are telling us in this context, or whatever. It’s feeling for that, not thinking through it. And it’s different. So it’s kind of this galactic executive function that’s happening in your cognition.”
This is the part of our conversation that picked up after Tyson’s toilet stop. We delve further here into the universality of loss in being separated from land, the fascinating convergence of thinking around the centrality of the gut to our larger intelligence or big spirit, and the essential value of being with those different to us.
